Valentine's Day Events in La Jolla and Del Mar

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Luckily, there are countless events around La Jolla and Del Mar for sweethearts to choose from. However, not all of the events taking place this weekend are romantic dinners. Throughout La Jolla and Del Mar, unique experiences await, like wine tours, pet expos, musical performances and even theatrical readings. Below is a list of Valentine's Day events taking place this weekend in La Jolla and Del Mar.

Valentine’s Day events in La Jolla

1. Georges at the Cove, 1250 Prospect St., La Jolla

Georges at the Cove is offering special prix-fixe menus on Valentine's Day. The California Modern will have a 3-course dinner for $86. The Ocean Terrace and Georges Bar will offer casual 3-course dining experiences for $65 per person.

2. Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa, 9700 N. Torrey Pines Rd., La Jolla

Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa is holding two events this weekend. One is for those who aren’t that crazy about Valentine’s Day. The other is a Valentine’s Day prix-fixe dinner at Mustangs & Burros.

3. La Jolla Wine Tours, 7514 Girard Ave., La Jolla

La Jolla Wine Tours is offering a variety of Valentine’s Day packages, all of which include fine wine and dining. The walking and train tour experiences feature scenic views and expert guides who share facts about local history.

4. Brockton Villa Restaurant, 1235 Coast Blvd., La Jolla

Brockton Villa Restaurant is holding a Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Supper. The 4-course meal is $49 per person and is enjoyed while overlooking the Cove.

5. The Shores Restaurant, 8110 Camino Del Oro, La Jolla

The Shores Restaurant is offering special menus created by Executive Chef Bernard Guillas and Chef de Cuisine Percy Oani. The Sweet Whispers Sip & Savor 3-course menu is available throughout the month of February, while the Valentine’s Day 4-course menu is only available on the 14th.

6. Herringbone, 7837 Herschel Ave., La Jolla

Herringbone is offering a 4-course dinner to be enjoyed beneath 100 year-old olive trees decorated with romantic lights for $75 per person. In addition, they are holding a Valentine’s Day brunch with bottomless mimosas, champagne toasts and Fish Meats Field cuisine at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.

7. La Valencia Hotel, 1132 Prospect St., La Jolla

La Valencia Hotel is holding a Valentine’s Day Dinner at The MED Ocean View Restaurant. Executive Chef James Montejano crafted a special 5-course menu for the holiday. The dinner is $125 per person and includes a bottle of wine.

8. L'amour Concert, 6811 La Jolla Blvd., La Jolla

On February 12th, from 6:30-9:30 p.m., the La Jolla Community Center is holding L’amour, a concert to benefit the musical arts. The concert will include opera performances, musical theater and Spanish love songs. In addition to musical entertainment, the event will include a wine tasting, dessert and a silent auction. Tickets are $30 per person.

9. Romance Isn't Dead concert, 7555 Draper Ave., La Jolla

La Jolla Riford Library is presenting "Romance Isn’t Dead," a concert filled with songs from living composers on February 13th at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20-$25.

10. Love Notes literature reading, 1008 Wall St., La Jolla

On February 13th, Athenaeum Music and Arts Library is offering "Love notes," a reading of stories that examine love. The event is from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $25-$30.

11. Donovan’s Steakhouse, 1250 Prospect St., La Jolla

Donovan’s Steakhouse is truly in the spirit of the holiday. In addition to a special Valentine’s Day menu, they have posted neat videos of Valentine’s days past and present on their website.

12. We Olive, 1158, Prospect St., La Jolla

We Olive is featuring a bottle of artisan wine and a plate of gourmet cheese and charcuterie at their ocean view wine bar on Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day events in Del Mar

1. Venissimo, 2650 Via de la Valle, Del Mar

According to Where Magazine, Venissimo is offering a special selection of cheeses, chocolates and champagne for Valentine’s Day from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for $50 per person.

2. San Diego Amazing Pet Expo, 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd., Del Mar

The San Diego Amazing Pet Expo will be held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Although the expo is not Valentine's Day related, it is a free event that will be held on Saturday and Sunday with prizes, giveaways, demonstrations, costume contests and discounted vaccinations. Pets are welcome.

3. Agave Del Mar, 1555 Camino del Mar, Del Mar

Per sandiegan.com, Agave Del Mar is offering a special Valentine’s Day 4-course menu for $70 per person at their Spanish bistro, Mola.

4. Kitchen 1540, 1540 Camino del Mar, Del Mar

Kitchen 1540 of L’Auberge Del Mar is offering several different Valentine’s Day dinner packages, including the Romeo and Juliet Dinner, which starts at $125 per person, according to sandiegan.com.
